Tania Kitsou

-She was  born  in  Kastoria, Greece

-She studied painting and  theater in New York-USA, Rome-Italy (1979-1985), where she graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts, and did postgraduate studies in The Hague-Netherlands and Malta (1987-1997 )*

(* Respectively in: Queens College-Art Department-NY, Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, Frije Academie den Haag, Groups for Human Encounter- Malta).

 

-Participant in many international conferences and European educational programs, as speaker/ instructor.

-Collaborated with many reviews and magazines, writing articles on art and art history in Greek, English and Italian ;  her articles and conferences presentation are published in Italian, Greek and English

-Since  2001  she lives  in Greece  and since  then has  instituted  the  Research  Theatre  Group “ frACTals”, presenting performances, projects and workshops in Greece (Thessaloniki- Athens etc.) as well as in Greek, European and International Festivals

-She collaborated with “ Art-oN- Petit Opera du Monde” (Greece),“Groups for Human Encounter” (Malta), “Τeatro Aenigma” (Italy) , “Motumus” (Italy), the Italian alternative theatre’s magazine“Catarsi” and the Greek e-magazine “e-culture”.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE- PUBLICATIONS

-Since 1990 has been working in theater as stage director and designer, while since 1992 she worked in the ambience of theatre in Mental Health, theater in Education and Theater of Diversity.

-She was in charge of the artistic direction in four theatre festivals in Italy and Greece.

( Tieffeu ’95- Sezione Proteo, Momenti ’96-2000-’01, 1st European Theatre Festival for Groups of Psychological Issues”-Thessaloniki Cultural Capital of Europe 1997, “Medieval and Byzantine Festival of Kastoria” 2012-’13).

-She directed over   56  theatre plays/performances  and  four digital  short films, that  have  been performed  in  Italy, Greece, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, Malta and Egypt, often praised by the critics.

-She took part in many congresses and run workshops as theatre educator internationally.

-She worked as stage director, professor and educator in many theatres, art schools and mental institutions in Italy, Germany and Greece.

-Repeatedly taught painting, art history and theater abroad (indicatively: “Lavori in Corso” (Ass. per il Teatro- Perugia), TIEFFEU (Ass. Per il teatro di figura e l’educazione – Perugia), “DIOTIMA” (Ass. per la Filosofia- Milano), “Teatro Aenigma”, Associazioni Nuove Catarsi (- Urbino), Libera Universita di Perugia, Unversita’ di Urbino ( Italy), EFFI (European Frau Forum Illereihen- Stuttgard, Germany)
